Leilani works with Onaya as a Research and Social Media Assistant. With academic backgrounds in Psychology and Journalism and Professional Writing, she brings a blend of science and spirituality to her work, with a mission to unify empirical knowledge, qualitative insight, and embodied understanding.

Her interests span mental health, altered states of consciousness, and human flourishing and wellbeing. She has a deep appreciation for nature and for the ways psychedelic medicines can serve as therapeutic catalysts for mental, emotional, and psychological healing and transformation.

She is driven to support scientific research that connects data with meaning, translating complex ideas into accessible, human centred insights that honour both empirical evidence and lived experience.

Leilani lives from her heart. She is adventurous and deeply passionate about nature, world travel, and the meaningful cultural encounters it invites. She loves meeting and connecting with new people and has a natural knack for building genuine connections, even across language barriers.

Outside of academia, Leilani is guided by rhythm and curiosity. From forests and oceans to salsa nights and techno parties, this self proclaimed yes woman is forever chasing new people, places, and adventures…and will happily chew your ear off about astrology if you let her.
