MSc, PhD
Jonah Teitelbaum is a clinical psychologist broadly interested in the intersection of spiritual practice, psychotherapy, and mental illness and health. More specifically, he is interested in the cognitive science of higher states of consciousness, with an emphasis on ego complexification and social-cognitive development.
Jonah holds a MS in Neuroscience and has extensive experience in psychiatric neuroimaging research. His master’s thesis validated a novel eye-tracking paradigm designed to measure implicit associations. During his doctoral training he worked on a variety of studies examining clinical and sub-clinical personality features and social cognition. His doctoral dissertation examined the relationship between mindfulness and an aspect of social cognition commonly referred to as transference, and the implications of that relationship on empathy and interpersonal functioning.
He currently maintains a private practice out of Los Angeles and holds academic appointments at Occidental College, Long Island University – Brooklyn, and the Silver Hill Academy for Research and Education.
