Don Wilder Mahua
Shipibo Curandero
Wilder Etman Rojas Mahua is a traditional healer from the Shipibo community of Paoyhan on the Ucayali River.
He was initiated into ayahuasca shamanism from the age of 12, including drinking the brew many times with his grandparents as a teenager. He credits their icaros (healing songs) and master plants such as Noya Rao with transforming his life, and now practices curanderismo in partnership with his mother in different parts of the Peruvian Amazon.
